Be clever, play cunning, and pickup craps the ideal way!

Dice and dice games goes all the way back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but current craps is approximately 100 years old. Current craps formed from the 12th Century English game called Hazard. No one absolutely knows the birth of the game, although Hazard is said to have been discovered by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, sometime in the twelfth century. It’s supposed that Sir William’s soldiers enjoyed Hazard amid a blockade on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was acquired from the citadel’s name.

Early French colonists brought the game Hazard to Canada. In the 18th century, when expelled by the British, the French moved down south and settled in southern Louisiana where they a while later became known as Cajuns. When they left Acadia, they brought their preferred game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns simplified the game and made it mathematically fair. It’s said that the Cajuns adjusted the title to craps, which was gotten from the term for the losing throw of two in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game moved to the Mississippi scows and throughout the nation. A good many consider the dice maker John H. Winn as the founder of current craps. In the early 1900s, Winn created the current craps setup. He created the Don’t Pass line so players can bet on the dice to not win. Later, he developed the boxes for Place wagers and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
